Today is World Vegan Day, but how to celebrate the occasion? I haven't really set up any kind of a tradition for it yet. This year I decided to adopt a bunch of animals for conservation, in the wild of course, I'm not in favour of zoos. There are a lot of organizations doing that, a friend has told me bad things about WWF, warranted or not I don't know, but it made me decide against them. Instead I went to some UK based charities, including CWI and tigertrust (since I happen to love tigers). Adopting animals in the names of family and friends seemed fun and rewarding for a vegan day activity. I'm also inviting some people for dinner at a nice vegetarian restaurant here, but really should've planned that in advance as not that many have time at such short notice. How about you, what's your way of celebrating Vegan Day?

World Vegan Day

Ah! I wanted to blog about this and do somethig special on vegan day, but I forgot... all those hectic work...:( Cool u adopt animals on world vegan day! Yea, u know the greenmeanies website by peta.... they included wwf i think... better to support farm sancturary i think?
Interesting u all adopt animals in the name of family and friends! I dun think the ppl where i live will like it if I did that though :D
Farm sanctuary is all very fine, but... personally I prefer supporting the habitat of the wildlife. Not that the farm animals wouldn't be valuable, but there's just too much animal farming going on while the wildlife is becoming extinct. Why on earth would anyone object to someone adopting animals for them?
Perhaps calling the people the same name as the animal makes them feel as if they are animals or smth.
But people ARE animals! Just the most stupid kind of an animal. Anyway, this adoption thing doesn't change anybody's name, all it means is that they send a certificate saying that this person has adopted this animal... and of course brings funding to conservation.
hhahaha...well i really don't know, the mindset of the people in different places varies, and sometimes vastly :D
